Learn more about me
I was always interested in telling stories: reading National Geographic magazines, I imagined myself as one of those reporters who travelled to document distant lands and cultures.
I studied Mass Communication in Caracas, Venezuela, where I learned the six journalistic questions: what, who, how, when, where, and why. Whilst studying a Masters in Investigative Journalism, Data and Visualization — Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid — I added one more variable to the equation: how to answer these questions in a more digitized world, add new narratives and exploit tools for better journalism.
I connected with journalists with similar ideas: journalism is not only about reporting, but also about coding and design.
Since then, I have focused mainly on infographics and data visualization. My job is to collect or extract large volumes of data, clean it, analyze it and find the story or the best way to tell it.
Topics that interest me: Human Rights, environment and climate change, migration, security, corruption, Millennium Development Goals, etc.
I like to participate in local and transnational journalism, in-depth journalism, visual journalism, journalism, and fact-checking
