I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where I studied Journalism.
I began drawing in my city in 2011 with a group of urban sketchers. For a moment, I tought it could be a good way to tell hidden stories about Caracas, but I never found the way to merge drawing with journalism.
Until 2014, when I had the opportunity to do a Master's Degree in Investigative, data and Data Visualisation Reporting. I have been a visual journalist since then, using graphics, maps and data visualisation to tell stories that matter.
Drawing has been an important part of my life since then. In the same way there are stories that are hard to tell or explain, expressing myself though art has been a scape valve, specially since 2016 when I left my country.
I would like to see that drawing can be for journalism something similar to photography.
